Editing Services

My editorial services include both proofreading and grammatical support, as well as suggestions on language structure (wording) and how you to improve the flow of your writing (sometimes known as "trimming the fat").

If you are an individual seeking editorial services, here are my base prices. Sliding scale or trade are optional if we need to negotiate:

Novel: $50 base, plus $0.35 per page* after the first 100 pages.
Short Story: $15 flat fee.
Novella: $20 flat fee, unless the story goes over 100 pages,* then it is subject to novel pricing.
Essay or Grant Proposal: $15 flat fee.

*Please send all drafts in proper editing format, ready for publishing. This means double spaced, 12 pt. Arial or Courier font. Place a slug line at the top right of each page with your last name, page number, and a word or phrase from your title. I utilize MS Word for digital manuscripts.

If you are a company seeking freelance editing, pricing is determined by the magnitude and requirements of the project. If, however, you are seeking a temporary or permanent staff member, I am also open to negotatiation.
