Raven Jennifer Demers

Modeling & Voice Acting

Raven Jennifer Demers, 2007I began modeling for my mother when I was very young. Ok, I was a ham. Because we could afford to, our family was photographed by the same man who photographed the Kennedys. And just as my love of posing grew, so did my mother's passion for photography kindle a fire within her.

When she attended photography school, I became the model du jour, often borrowed to assist in a special shot. It was this that turned me to professional modeling, although as a child, it was a backburner love compared to my acting.

Performing took even more of my time, thoughts, and energy. I danced at home and performed at schools. I was the youngest student--at age 5--to be accepted into the Alliance Theatre Academy's youth program (the minimum was 9) after a cold reading at their open auditions. Before this, I've been told, I auditioned for the part of Alia in Dune, although I was even younger and don't recall it.

During my high school years, having a poor outlet for my acting, I turned to the dance program and excelled, yet I missed the joy of acting. I got another taste of it in college, although it was a short-lived exploration.

What did catch my notice was yet another excursion into the world of modeling, and this one as an adult. Lawrence Enterprises picked me up as their hot new model in 1997, and for a few years, I wowed plus-sized magazines. I also befriended Brian Clarke, a.k.a. Les Toil who was later commissioned by my studio to provide a portrait of myself posed as the goddess of love.

While my recent years as mother have pushed me out of the limelight, I am pushing back in one step at a time.

Modeling:

While I no longer pose for magazines like Dimensions and similar publications, I remain available to artists and photographers who wish to collaborate on a project.

Voice Acting:

Although my past experience has been primarily devoted to stage performance, I believe my true acting talents may prove themselves in the realm of voice acting, for as Veronica Franco was once told, temptation lies in a woman's voice. Whether one requires a strong, elegant female voice for professional recordings or character voices for a cartoon, I would be interested in discussing your project.
